A handsome packaging concept for Boots No7 Men’s Christmas gifts
With steady sales in the men’s grooming and skincare markets, Boots No7 skincare range was making decent progress among that difficult-to-buy-for demographic. To build on this success they needed a fresh new concept for Christmas 2016, and we were commissioned to develop the packaging for their trend-led gifts and accessories range.
Our ‘General Store’ concept taps into the timeless values that appeal to men – quality, heritage and craftsmanship. We found inspiration in independent barbershops, pairing quirky typography and simple line-drawn illustrations with the bold graphic patterns recalling the elegant tiling of grooming salons. And we explored interesting materials, including a tin box, heavy charcoal paper, and uncoated grey card with bright colour blocking.
With eight gifts across the collection, it all came together handsomely to create a good-looking gift range with a hint of nostalgia – sure to set moustaches a-twirling across the land on Christmas Day.
